How to Get Started Acting

There are many actors who wish to make it big in the film industry and in show business, but do not know where to start. For those of you who have the talent, confidence and determination in you, here are a few tips on the right way to get started acting.

Learn
You need to be a voracious reader and a hungry learner. Read and know everything you can get your hands on about acting. Having knowledge on various types, techniques and principles of acting would give you a great deal of confidence. Take lessons in personality development, dance, singing, martial arts and any thing that can give credit to your talent list. You also need to enroll in theaters in the neighborhood, be it school theater, community theater or a children's theater (if you are a kid).

Network
A community theater is a nerve center when it comes to networking or making contacts. In a school theater you only get to know the basics and you are most likely to meet teachers and aspiring actors. But in a community theater, the business gets much more serious and there's no guessing who can exert what influence to sign you on a role. So, the baseline is "Be nice" to everyone, and at the same time let them know that you aim high and your passion is acting. When you chance upon somebody who knows 'who's who' in the industry, don't shy away from asking a favor.

Practice
Keep acting. Do anything and any role that comes your way or if it doesn't come your way go in search of it until you find it. While knowing is one thing, practicing reinforces what you know. All the big timers in the industry today have the cutting edge because of the years of honing they have given themselves through rigorous practice in a medley of challenging roles. So the take away here is keep practicing and don't let any chance pass you. Join modeling competitions, talent shows, television series, or anything that can give you a chance to practice.

Homework - A Must
Make it customary to read a lot and update your knowledge on the industry. Researching on what you already know can further your acumen. Look up directories and web sites for established actors and email them your profile. For all you know they might trigger your career to a jumpstart.

Peer Group
If you had started early in life pursuing your dream career of acting, and right from kids' theater graduated to a university, then you may have a lot of people who can be your peer group. These are people with whom you might have maintained good contacts and who would be eager to see you perform. In all probabilities one of these well wishers would call you up for an opening with a role that is just right for you.

Is it too Late?
If the acting bug has bitten you rather late in life then you suddenly realize that you have an actor inside you who can perform miracles. "If only I had known this earlier" - this phrase can just be deleted from your mind for it is never too late to start, especially in acting, as there are roles for kids and as well as older people. There is a need for performers in all the age groups right from kids to oldies, so just wake up and make your dream come true.

Still Feeling Shy?
Are you still not sure if you are considering the right career path and want a hands-on assurance then there is still a chance for you. Get familiar with the industry by volunteering as a crew member. This will give you an excellent opportunity to see how things work.

Set Those BIG Goals Today

One of my favourite professional speeches is entitled Goals to Gold!

I love delivering it to diverse audiences because of the visible evidence I detect each time, without fail, as different members of those disparate groups begin to realise – often for the very first time – that this isn’t all there is to their lives.

Not By A Long Shot!

They, as well as you and I, can and should dare to aspire to be, have and do much, much, much more.

I must warn you, though, I draw the line this side of the REAL world! That means I don’t believe achieving every conceivable goal is possible.

Of course it isn’t!

But a lot more grand, sometimes even grandiose, goals are attainable than we give ourselves credit for; although their final realisation sometimes doesn’t quite match our original conception. Consider what diva Madonna said way, way back in 1992, “I have the same goal I’ve had ever since I was a girl. I want to rule the world.” (Perhaps Argentina, on the big screen, was a stepping stone for her?)

Big or small, the most effective first step toward achieving anything, as personal leadership guru Stephen Covey so succinctly puts it, is to ‘begin with the end in mind’.

This advice has direct relevance to financial planning, which is defined by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards as ‘the process of meeting your life goals through the proper management of your finances’.

In my opinion, the four most crucial words of that financial planning definition are ‘meeting your life goals’.

So let me ask you: What are your life goals?

I’m sure you can rattle off many small goals. Inconsequential ones like finishing this article before lunch, completing that project at work next week, or going on holiday in three months.

I’m also certain you can list some significant goals with longer time horizons, such as achieving a great retirement for yourself and your spouse or funding your kids’ tertiary education or building a business.

Being able to articulate those goals is a great start. But what I’ve learnt from my consulting clients, over the years and across the miles, is that most people – even those with ‘loadsa money’ – have trouble defining great goals that genuinely, truly

s--t--r--e--t--c--h

them beyond self-imposed limits.

In the interests of full disclosure I must admit I’ve also had the intriguing privilege of dealing with a few clients who regularly set goals so grand – well… grandiose, actually – that I have had to rein them in!

By And Large, However, Most People Have Trouble Setting Sizable Goals

Why is that?

After a great deal of thought and observation, I’ve come to the conclusion that the two big reasons are – surprise, surprise! – environmental and hereditary.

Our Environment Shapes Us

Marine biology studies provide us with an interesting perspective on this phenomenon. If you put a young fish in a small aquarium, what usually happens over time is that the fish grows in size, BUT its maximum size at maturity is limited by the space available. It remains small.

But if you were to put another young fish from the same batch into a huge pool, it is likely to grow to gargantuan proportions in comparison to its relatively incarcerated sibling.

Similarly, people who are able to set huge goals tend to come from homes that were ‘spacious’ with encouragement.

Those who can’t set big goals often seem to have grown up in families where praise was absent or extended grudgingly.

Heredity Also Affects Us

But, personally, I don’t believe it comes anywhere near environment as being the key determinant of how people turn out.

The bad news is nothing can be done about the genes we inherited from our parents, or about the type of home or school environment that shaped us during our formative years.

But the – more important – good news is that an act of our will can override many aspects of ‘lousy internal programming’.

Human beings have a ‘divine spark’, for want of a better description, which allows us to make choices.

For instance, we can choose to exercise delayed gratification or to live it up today!

We can choose to save and invest 30% of our income or to squander 120% of that income each month! We can choose, as adults, to invest 10% of our resources in our ongoing personal education or we can choose to stop learning the moment we leave school or university!

Which choices appeal to you? Why?

I have learnt that at the heart of every ‘good’ decision is a willingness to take the long view, to begin every task with the final end burned into our mind’s eye.

So, to help you, I will share a framework for goal-setting that should increase your chances of sticking to any crucial task longer than most others will.

That by itself, over time, WILL escalate the odds of your reaching each crucial goal you set for yourself.

You are free to use this recipe in setting major financial goals, but please don’t limit yourself. This algorithm (or recipe) will work with all types of goals, including physical, material, social, spiritual and professional ones.

There are three parts to this easy-to-follow framework:

1. Choose monster goals;

2. Take a long time defining these ‘Godzillas’; and

3. Think on paper, as you give yourself permission to run picture-perfect mental movies of an awesome future.

1. Choose monster goals – only big goals are worthy of our greatest attention, fiercest passion and deepest commitment. Only massive goals have that magical capacity to fire up your imagination for the months, years and decades of painstaking implementation required to achieve them!

2. Take your time defining these ‘Godzilla’ goals – once you embark on a programme of goal-determination, realise you will become – beneficially – addicted to the process. It will take you anything between 20 and 50 hours (and in some cases more) of concentrated thought and directed daydreaming to detect the big goals you’re willing to give your life to accomplishing. (For specific guidance on how to ‘dream’ effectively prior to goal-setting,

3. Think on paper – write down each major goal as you decide upon it. Write them in the active voice, and in the present tense, and keep rewriting them.

According to author-consultant Brian Tracy, our subconscious can only go to work on ‘factual’ statements in the present tense, such as, “I am a millionaire” or “I have achieved financial freedom”. If you feel uncomfortable stating things that are not true, then don’t think of it as lying to yourself right now but as telling yourself the truth in advance!

Also, for financial goals, put realistic present values or costs in implementing them now. Then roll them forward and take into account the ballooning effect of inflation on ‘actual’ future prices.

If you take all three steps, you will have begun the process of beginning with the end in mind. So, once started, don’t stop.

Don't Let Go Of Your Dreams - Not Again!

You wake up screaming!

Your spouse calms you down; reassuring you it was just another nightmare.

Even as you settle back and start drifting into slumber again, you wonder why the only dreams you have nowadays are bad ones.

What happened to your once fertile imagination that was able to conjure exciting, almost always enjoyable dreams; pleasurable mental movies you could play against the screen of your inner eyelids day or night, awake or asleep?

The problem so many of us face in daily life is one of encroaching walls; figurative rock faces that creep toward us inexorably, leaving us with less and less room to manoeuvre.

If you remember the trash compressor scene in Star Wars where Han Solo, Princess Leia and Luke Skywalker are trapped, we’ll be on the same wavelength!

When we were younger, it seemed our imaginations allowed us to roam the world, making it our stage or better yet our playground.

But we allowed ourselves to grow up - and not always in the right way. Many of us have lost the ability to dream big, great dreams that fuel mental excursions.

And that’s tragic, because those exciting journeys within our skulls are the only things that permit us to grow beyond the normal confines of our too often drab lives.

Thankfully, none of us has totally lost that ability to dream and imagine. I can prove it!

When you’re stuck behind a desk that seems to have grown shackles that attach themselves to your ankles and wrists, don’t you readily dream of a better place, a better way of life?

The problem is those dreams tend not to last too long. Someone or something is always crashing into our reality, bringing us back to earth with a rather hard bump.

But if we want to lay claim to a life that is bigger than the one we now live, we must recapture that long-lost childhood facility to dream good dreams for sustained periods.

You see, being able to see beyond things as they are now, through rosy mists of future probability and then perceiving them as they might be, is the common denominator of life’s big winners.

If they can do it, so can you, because all of humanity shares that God-given endowment. As Stephen Covey puts it, “In addition to self-awareness, we have imagination - the ability to create in our minds beyond our present reality.”

If you use your ability to imagine properly, it will expand into one of the most potent time management tools at your disposal - your capacity to idealise and dream of a better future.

Of course, we all know people who do nothing but dream. I’m not asking you to become such an airhead. I’m saying you need to give yourself permission to look beyond perhaps the grey, drab walls of your existence and ask yourself if this is the rich, abundant life God created you for.

Most people would have to say NO.

That would be a great first step.

The second is to grant yourself permission to daydream actively for short spells at a time - even if it is only for 30 seconds while stuck in a traffic jam. (Of course, if you commute to work using public transport, you have even more time at your disposal.)

So, get a dedicated little notebook and jot down whatever comes to mind during these brief, but precious mental excursions.

MY OWN EXPERIENCE

I remember doing a similar exercise about a decade ago, when I felt trapped in a great paying job that was nonetheless squeezing every drop of joy out of my life.

And so I dreamt and wrote, wrote and dreamt, and then wrote some more.

If you think that a similar exercise will help you detect what’s important to you, then you really should get to know yourself better by tapping into your dream bank.

Most people know how to dream at night. But they have a problem retaining their far more vital lifetime dreams within a solid framework for awakened review.

Such a pragmatic framework allows those who know how to go about it well to follow up on those dreams, to prioritise them, then to take action on the most exciting ones.

Are you among those who want to recapture lost dreams but are not sure how to do so?

After a long while of working through practical exercises of dream harvesting, I began noticing a pattern in where my thoughts kept taking me.

I spent a long time charting my dreams and thoughts. Then came the time to stop dreaming and to take action!

I had to gather my courage and walk away from the security of that soul-sapping high-paying job onto a path only dimly lit by the lamp of those written dreams.

Since then, some months, even years, have been very hard. But looking back, it’s been worth it to get from there to here.

I’m not asking you to quit your job. Just to give yourself permission to start to dream again.

And then to have the courage to pursue the right dreams.

In this context, I love what Benjamin Franklin once wrote, “To be thrown upon one’s own resources is to be cast into the very lap of fortune; for our faculties then undergo a development and display an energy of which they were previously unsusceptible.”

And so, the way I see it, finding the courage to reignite your latent ability to dream and having the discipline to record those dreams is just a tiny, tiny step away from giving yourself permission to truly start living again!

How to Avoid Getting Your Adsense Account Banned

Google, being the undisputable leader in search engines from then until now, is placing a high importance on the quality and relevancy of its search engines. Most especially now that the company is public property. In order to keep the shareholders and users of its engines happy, the quality of the returned results are given extreme importance.

For this same reason, doing the wrong things in the Adsense and other forms of advertisements, whether intentionally or unintentionally, will result in a severe penalty, may get you banned and even have your account terminated. Nothing like a good action taken to keep wrongdoers from doing the same things over again.

So for those who are thinking of getting a career in Adsense, do not just think of the strategies you will be using to generate more earnings. Consider some things first before you actually get involved.

Hidden texts. Filling your advertisement page with texts to small to read, has the same color as the background and using css for the sole purpose of loading them with rich keywords content and copy will earn you a penalty award that is given to those who are hiding links.

Page cloaking. There is a common practice of using browser or bot sniffers to serve the bots of a different page other than the page your visitors will see. Loading a page with a bot that a human user will never see is a definite no-no. This is tricking them to click on something that you want but they may not want to go to.

Multiple submissions. Submitting multiple copies of your domain and pages is another thing to stay away from. For example, trying to submit a URL of an Adsense as two separate URL’s is the same as inviting trouble and even termination. Likewise, this is a reason to avoid auto submitters for those who are receiving submissions. Better check first if your domain is submitted already an a certain search engine before you try to submit to it again. If you see it there, then move on. No point contemplating whether to try and submit there again.

Link farms. Be wary of who and what are you linking your Adsense to. The search engines know that you cannot control your links in. But you can certainly control what you link to. Link farming has always been a rotten apple in the eyes of search engines, especially Google. That is reason enough to try and avoid them. Having a link higher than 100 on a single page will classify you as a link farm so try and not to make them higher than that.

Page rank for sale. If you have been online for quite some time, you will notice that there are some sites selling their PR links or trading them with other sites. If you are doing this, expect a ban anytime in the future. It is okay to sell ads or gain the link. But doing it on direct advertisement of your page rank is a way to get on search engines bad side.

Doorways. This is similar to cloaking pages. The common practice of a page loaded with choice keyword ads aimed at redirecting visitors to another “user-friendly” page is a big issue among search engines. There are many seo firms offering this kind of services. Now that you know what they actually are, try to avoid them at all costs.

Multiple domains having the same content. In case you are not aware of it, search engines look at domains IP’s, registry dates and many others. Having multiple domains having the same exact content is not something you can hide from them. The same goes with content multiplied many times on separate pages, sub domains and forwarding multiple domains to the same content.

Many of the above techniques apply to most search engines and is not entirely for Google only. By having a mind set that you are building your Adsense together with your pages for the human users and not for bots, you can be assured of the great things for your ads and sites.

5 Ways To Improve Your Adsense Earnings

If webmasters want to monetize their websites, the great way to do it is through Adsense. There are lots of webmasters struggling hard to earn some good money a day through their sites. But then some of the “geniuses” of them are enjoying hundreds of dollars a day from Adsense ads on their websites. What makes these webmasters different from the other kind is that they are different and they think out of the box.

The ones who have been there and done it have quite some useful tips to help those who would want to venture into this field. Some of these tips have boosted quite a lot of earnings in the past and is continuously doing so.

Here are some 5 proven ways on how best to improve your Adsense earnings.

1. Concentrating on one format of Adsense ad. The one format that worked well for the majority is the Large Rectangle (336X280). This same format have the tendency to result in higher CTR, or the click-through rates. Why choose this format out of the many you can use? Basically because the ads will look like normal web links, and people, being used to clicking on them, click these types of links. They may or may not know they are clicking on your Adsense but as long as there are clicks, then it will all be for your advantage.

2. Create a custom palette for your ads. Choose a color that will go well with the background of your site. If your site has a white background, try to use white as the color of your ad border and background. The idea to patterning the colors is to make the Adsense look like it is part of the web pages. Again, This will result to more clicks from people visiting your site.

3. Remove the Adsense from the bottom pages of your site and put them at the top. Do not try to hide your Adsense. Put them in the place where people can see them quickly. You will be amazed how the difference between Adsense locations can make when you see your earnings.

4. Maintain links to relevant websites. If you think some sites are better off than the others, put your ads there and try to maintaining and managing them. If there is already lots of Adsense put into that certain site, put yours on top of all of them. That way visitor will see your ads first upon browsing into that site.

5. Try to automate the insertion of your Adsense code into the webpages using SSI (or server side included). Ask your web administrator if your server supports SSI or not. How do you do it? Just save your Adsense code in a text file, save it as “adsense text”, and upload it to the root directory of the web server. Then using SSI, call the code on other pages. This tip is a time saver especially for those who are using automatic page generators to generate pages on their website.

These are some of the tips that have worked well for some who want to generate hundreds and even thousands on their websites. It is important to know though that ads are displayed because it fits the interest of the people viewing them. So focusing on a specific topic should be your primary purpose because the displays will be especially targeted on a topic that persons will be viewing already.

Note also that there are many other Adsense sharing the same topic as you. It is best to think of making a good ad that will be somewhat different and unique than the ones already done. Every clickthrough that visitors make is a point for you so make every click count by making your Adsense something that people will definitely click on.

Tips given by those who have boosted their earnings are just guidelines they want to share with others. If they have somehow worked wonders to some, maybe it can work wonders for you too. Try them out into your ads and see the result it will bring.

If others have done it, there is nothing wrong trying it out for yourself.

Google Adsense

Google Adsense has been the major earning source for many webmasters but one thing Google has always been criticised is that it does not allow the webmasters to know what ads are being displayed on their forum. The problem solved to some extent with Google releasing Google Adsense Preview Tool. But this preview tool was not sufficient for webmaster as its utility was limited. Now a new tool is developed by Amit Aggarwal of Labnol that is far better than the Google Adsense Preview Tool. It has been named as Google Adsense Sandbox Tool v 1.0 which work for all browsers unlike Adsense preview tool which can be used only for IE.

Google Adsense Sandbox Tool v 1.0 give you two options for adsense preview

1. Keywords: You just type in the keywords for which you want to preview Google Adsense in the "Type URL or Keywords" box and click the submit button.

2. URL: This is one of the major tool that Adsense Sandbox has. It allows you to preview all the adsense ads coming on a website whose URL is provided by you in the "Type URL or Keywords" box.

One of the main feature that I liked about Adsense sandbox is that it allows you to view all the ads that are being displayed on your website based on the Ad format such as 728 x 90, 250 x 250 etc. So that you can know what are the ads that will be displayed on choosing a particular ads format.

The other feature of Adsense Sandbox that Google Adsense Preview Tool also have is the geotargetted adsense preview tool. You can set the country in the adsense sandbox tool you wish the result should display. You can also set it to "Auto" which I think sets the country automatically according to your IP address.

One more important thing at the last which I know you might be thinking of. Will the advertisers be charged of this. The answer is Absolutely No. The Adsense Sandbox tool works by taking a random publisher ID so you will not get any earnings from viewing these ads just as in Adsense Preview Tool.

I think this tool could be a revolutionary tool in Adsense as it allows webmasters to have a more detailed looks on the ads being served by Google on their blog. Finally, my heartiest thanks to Amit Aggarwal who provided us with such a great tool.

Baby sitter is useful or useless for our Children..?

21st Century is very expensive in the world, so every Husband and wife are doing job for their children bright future. They cannot take care for there little child, so, they appoint baby sitter for little child.

Do you know about Baby sitter..? - Baby sitter is the person, he/she gives service to care for other children, and they should get money from children parents.

In some countries are face many problem in baby sitter. Because of other countries are undeveloped. So, in these countries parents have not appointed baby sitter for child. But parents of developed countries are appointing a baby sitter for child, they are also facing many problem. Like baby sitter cannot give good service care, good food and etc.

Most problem are parents Love. Because parents have not much time for there children, so they appoint babysitter, and babysitter not a parents so, they cannot give parents love, this point is very dangerous for children, I think when child will became a young, that time he/she will opposite to parents & sometime bed habits will be dangerous for human beings.

In Many cities there are 5-6 baby sitters, and in this house there are many children, (which age only 3-4 month to 10 year). Baby sitter take care 8 to 10 hour children and they earn money. There are many baby sitter are live in one house and they take care many children. They give many facilities for little children. In morning time they give tea/milk, breakfast, and many things, in lunch time they give good lunch, in afternoon time they give milk, snack and in dinner time they give soft dinner for children. Sometime they will give different type of sweet dishes.

They also learn different type of exercise, playing game, how to talk with elder and many things. When same age children playing different game that time they should became claver & active.

When children are living in babysitter house that time his parent left her children love......? No Body can give this answer. Because parents is god for every children and they can not forget his diminutive children.

Just what is this 'animal' called investing, which everyone talks about and so few excel at?
In the simplest of terms, it means taking cash you have - from spending less than you earn or from borrowing - and parking it in some instrument that you expect will go up in value.
Of course, you already know that. But you must also realise that just as a child must learn to crawl before she can walk, you must learn to save before you invest.

You see, in the realm of saving and investing there is something called the risk-reward relationship that almost always holds true. That's why the more investment risk you choose to take, the greater the potential (though not guaranteed) return you might earn. The downside is that in investment science, the English word 'risk' really means volatility. Murphy's Law has a tendency to apply in a big way in this arena, meaning just when you most need to liquidate your holdings to raise some cash, you're likely to find your investments have dropped the most precipitously in value. That's why you should always put savings in place first before embarking upon any investment spree.

A good way to distinguish between savings and investments is to look at the inherent price volatility of the underlying instrument.
If it doesn't fluctuate, you probably will only earn a low interest rate on it. The good news is at least you'll know with a high degree of certainty that what you've put into such a savings instrument will be there when you want to pull it out.
If, on the other hand, the instrument you park your funds in does fluctuate, either moderately or insanely, you're looking at an investment, at best, or a dangerous speculation, at worst.
Way back in 1997, in my very first book, Your A-Z Guide to the Stock Market - and all you need to know about capital terms, I described the act of investing in this fashion:
The reallocation of cash flows over time with the aim of enjoying capital appreciation and increased future income flows.... Because of his willingness to forgo the 'good things in life' now so as to have money to invest, an investor is making an attempt to have even more of those good things later on.
If you have never seriously and consistently invested before, I urge you to begin the process of learning how to do so wisely before you embark on any actual large scale commitment of hard-earned capital. Investors understand the meaning of sacrifice and delayed gratification. As Timothy W. Cunningham and Clay B. Mansfield wrote in their outstanding book Pay Yourself First - a commonsense guide to life cycle retirement investing, "Investment capital is created by not spending everything we earn."
Even more importantly I hope you will take the time to ask yourself the question, "Why should I transform myself into an investor?"
While you invest significant mental resources grappling with that knotty, potentially life-altering question, I suggest you start saving first... in a 3-S fashion - small, slow and safe.
If you've never saved any money before, don't shock your system to such an extent that you end up throwing in the towel before you seriously clamber into the 'wealth accumulation' ring!
Instead, I suggest you set aside a small amount of money from your weekly or monthly earnings. Start slow. Put it away safely in a bank account. Increase your rate of saving on a consistent basis, perhaps by just 1 percentage point of net earnings every three months. It doesn't sound like much but if you can do that, you'll raise your personal savings rate by 4 percentage points in a single year.
The advice that I give my financial planning and investment clients - in Malaysia, where I live - is to set a long range target to reach a 40% to 50% 'savings' rate within the next 10 to 12 1/2 years. (That may seem like a very long time to you, but time flies by ever so quickly! Wouldn't you rather reach 'maturity'- before 'geriatric creakiness' sets in - as a dignified person in great financial shape rather than as a dried husk of a financial wreck?)
If you answered yes, you should aim to gradually shift a portion of your growing savings into investments - once you've learnt enough about them!
There are numerous instruments you can use for this purpose. I won't bother to touch on exotic instruments that are too complex for me to understand and too dangerous for most of my clients to dabble in.
Instead, here are some basic bread-and-butter suggestions that have the potential to make you seriously wealthy, if you exercise patience and are willing to invest for the long haul.
The primary savings instruments I suggest my clients use are bank savings accounts, bank fixed deposits (or certificates of deposit, CDs, as they are know in the US) and money market funds.
The investment instruments I have seen my clients use with great effectiveness include bond funds, equity funds, real estate investment trusts (REITs), high-dividend yielding stocks, and rental property.
Neither list is comprehensive.
Nonetheless, if you haven't even begun the process of making investing a way of life, those instruments I've listed here will keep you busy over the next few years - first learning about and then buying intelligently.
You won't need to go beyond such instruments to achieve financial freedom, unless you want to and have adequately prepared yourself to do so in the decades ahead.
What you do need, however, is a burning desire to rewire your mental pathways so that a decade from now, should someone ask you, "Hello, what do you do?", your immediate reaction will be:
"I'm an investor. What about you?"

What to Know to Become an Actor

A career in acting is perceived as one of the quickest ladders to success, fame and big bucks. Very few people realize that behind all the glamour and glitz of actors who make it big in the film industry is sheer hard work, perseverance, discipline and continuous training. The path to glory is a tough one and a performer has to put in a great deal of hard work.

The career in show business is not without competition, an actor needs to compete with almost all his co-performers to win accolades. It is also important to note that an actor with a plethora of exposure and experience in various performing arts like stage performance, plays, television series, commercials and feature films possesses the dexterity to handle any kind of role, however challenging.

It is imperative for a person aspiring to become an actor to be aware of factors that go into the making of his/her own successful acting career.

Acting - A Career
Contemplate the acting career as your future and not as a glamorous and fanciful idea. It is a fact that most of the successful actors entered the industry wanting to be a success and not due to a choice made out of impulse.

Acting - A Dedication
As an actor you need to be wholly dedicated to the profession. You may also have to sacrifice many of your personal needs, likings and lifestyle to exhibit the required dedication to make it big. When you approach acting with this dedication and hard work there is a great deal of certainty in you succeeding sooner than you can ever imagine.

Read on to learn what is required to become an actor.
  • Break down the scene. When you do so, you would get to analyze the scene part-by-part to get the finer details which may be helpful in performing better.
  • Dig deeper into your role to understand the character better. You should be clear on what role your character represents, the protagonist, the antagonist, etc. On learning and fully understanding the character you can develop the character. In addition also understand how the character would interact with the other characters.
  • Know more about human psychology, good actors are jugglers of various emotions.
  • Rehearse the different techniques of acting like Stanislovsky, Meisner, etc. after learning them.
  • Get an insight into the various ways of physical movement. The way actors move on stage would widely vary from the way they do so, on the camera.
  • It is pivotal to talk the language that the film industry speaks. Ask around about terms you do not understand and get to know deeper about the subjects. An actor who understands technical terms spoken by the crew is preferred to one who is a novice to the subject.
  • While communicating effectively is important, it pays to talk when you need to, and listen when you must. This is more so during rehearsals.
  • It is good to have a little fun while at work but it important that you don't goof off on the sets.
  • During rehearsals on a set or on stage, know when to talk and when to listen. You may sound obnoxious talking at the wrong time and may affect your personality negatively.
  • Make it a point not to talk to crew members who are busy working. It is ok to socialize when they are relatively free. Most crew members would oblige to clear your doubts on the equipment used and their purpose.
  • It is important to do as you are told to. While on the sets, stand where you are asked to stand and wait when you are told to.
  • As an actor, it is crucial that you show up on time. The production looses huge amounts of money if the team is made to wait for an actor.
  • Another important thing is to know your lines. It is expensive to do repeated takes when the actor messes up with the dialogue.
  • Know about film making from a business perspective and it would help in the long run. It is very important to learn and keep learning. You can probably learn all your lifetime by reading, attending classes, seminars and listening to tapes.
  • Keep acting. Put to practice all the knowledge you harness and act for the passion and not for the pay.

Getting Started in Film Acting

There is no one sure way to become a successful film actor. In fact, there are as many different ways as there are actors. Each actor finds success in their own way, using luck, connections, and perseverance. There are, however, some basic tips that can help any new actor get their foot in the proverbial door. Here are a few ways to get started.

Theater
Almost every city and town has at least one small community theater where local actors gather and put on performances. Take advantage of this opportunity, even if your primary interest is film and television. Acting is acting, and it changes very little between media. Any practice and exposure you get while doing community theater will only improve your chances of making it in the film industry. Also, many agents and casting directors attend plays and showcases in hopes of finding talented new actors. Remember, opportunities can come at any time.

Student Films
Is there a college in your hometown? If so, chances are they have some kind of film, media arts, or broadcasting program. Film students always need talented actors, and you could be just what they're looking for. They probably won't be able to pay you anything and the final product may not be that great, but the experience will be more than worth it. Just be sure to get a video copy of your performance and keep in contact with student director. Who knows... he or she may be the next Spielberg.

Be a Movie Extra
Extras (sometimes referred to as "background" or "atmosphere" actors) are used in almost every movie. They may be a face in a crowd of thousands or someone who fully interacts with the other actors but doesn't have any lines. In either case, you don't have to live in New York or Los Angeles to get this kind of work. Watch for ads in the newspaper or contact your local film commission if you know a production is coming to the area. You might be able to get a few days work as an extra.

Even though extra work is not considered serious acting by most people in the entertainment industry, it still gives you valuable experience. If you have never been on a film set before, you can learn a lot just by watching the cast and crew work. Also, there is a very small chance that you might get "upgraded" if the director decides that she needs you to say a line. This rarely happens, but if it does you will receive a lot more money and be eligible to join the Screen Actors Guild.

For more information about becoming a movie extra, visit
Moviex.com. Moviex.com is the world's leading online extras casting service. Moviex.com provides guides, advice, and instructions to get you started and casting notices, casting calls and auditions to keep you working.

Independent Films
Many low budget films can not afford to hire experienced actors and will hold open calls. You can find auditions for these kinds of productions in trade publications or even local newspapers. However, it's a good idea to be cautious when responding to these ads. Take a friend with you to the audition and know what you're getting into. Most small films are wonderful experiences, but others can be purely exploitive. Always use your best judgement.

Get an Agent
After building credits and experience doing some or all of the things listed above, you should be ready to find an agent. Unless you live in a major city, this may be difficult. But even some smaller cities have reputable agents who submit their clients for commercials and the occasional film.

Be Persistent
You may be the most talented actor on the planet, but you'll never get anywhere without determination. Believe in yourself and never give up. If you want it, you can succeed in this business!

How to Become an Actor....!

Most people believe that acting is all about exhibiting a natural, instinctive skill that you are born with and hold inside you. In reality, acting is actually a trait that can be stimulated and sharpened with the proper training. While there are thousands of actors working around the world on a daily basis, there are but a few exceptional people, who by exhibiting their "natural talents," have made it big in tinsel-town. Do you have what it takes to be one of these exceptional people? Do you have the determination and desire to give it your all to achieve your acting dreams, aspirations and goals? Or are you simply looking for a short cut, which will most likely lead to uncertainty and disappointment. If you are willing to stay focused and work hard, you can make it as an actor in showbiz. Read on, if you'd like to learn the practical steps you should take if you want to become an actor or actress.
It is good to have a formal education in acting and drama. There are many schools and universities where one can get trained in acting. If your quest for the theory on acting is insatiable, then there is the Master in Fine Arts for you. While such formal education in acting can teach you the fundamental acting techniques and even history, heritage, and acting traditions, nothing is more important and provides as much training as actually performing on stage in front of a live audience. Therefore, to truly complete your education, it is imperative you begin practicing and performing wherever and whenever possible.

You don't need to move to a major city to find outlets where you can practice and improve your acting proficiency. You can start acquiring your practical on-stage experience in your very own home town. There are plenty of opportunities to perform in community, school and church plays. Don't simply dismiss these plays as amateurish before you give them an honest try. You'd be surprised how many low-budget community and school plays are professionally produced. Plus, many local talent scouts regularly attend community theater productions since many will be friends with the theater's producers and directors. You'll also find it's simply great fun to part of theater or performance troop.

You may also try getting involved with your local college or universities' film or media department. You may not get paid, but you can get yourself on film which could be seen by other casting directors and talent scouts. Plus, you'll get a copy of the finished film that you can use as an audition demo video to send to talent agents.

Once you've decided to give acting in your local community theater a try, you'll of course need to know how to go about auditioning. Scan your local newspaper's entertainment or arts and leisure section for notices of open casting calls. Another simple and more direct way to track down audition information is to call the theater's ticket sales phone number and enquire about future auditions. Some other ways include searching the Internet and also trying to establish contacts in the local school or university where there may be open public auditions that are used for community outreach programs.

In spite of these efforts, if you are still not able to make it as a performer in the play, don't give up yet. Volunteer to help behind the scenes in roles like costume, set design or lighting as this may look good on your resume as creditable experience. It is interesting to note that many great actors started by working behind the scenes, so keep trying.
If you find there just aren't any local theater, film, or drama departments in your area that suit you, you'll have to go at it alone. Buy, borrow, or rent a camcorder and start making your own performance videos. Start shooting yourself acting a scene from your favorite movie. Then move on to classical theatrical monologues you'll find online and in books at the library. After taping several quick video clips, move on to making your own short films. Ask your friends to participle in them with you. And have your friends and family critique your acting ability. Keep making them and you'll improve.
Actor Vin Diesel started performing on stage when he was seven years old. But as he grew older he longed to be in feature films. The problem was, he just wasn't getting the parts he wanted. So he did what he had the power to do - he produced, directed, and starred in his own short film titled "Multi-Facial." Steven Spielberg saw his short film and based upon his performance, he was cast in the Oscar-winning film "Saving Private Ryan." From there Vin went on to become the action super-star of many Hollywood motion pictures.

The next step you should plan for is to build a sound acting resume. With each new acting project you'll have one more entry to add to your actor's resume. And each time you add to your resume you'll have an easier time landing that next acting role. The larger, and fuller your resume, the easier it will be to find acting jobs. And once you have a resume completely filled with your list of acting experience, skills and talents, you can flaunt it and begin marketing yourself. Call up ad agencies for casting in their TV commercials and don't forget to get the contact of the person handling casting for their productions.

Eventually, after you've performed in countless community, school and church productions and successfully appeared in local broadcast and cable television commercials, you might consider making the move to bigger cities, like New York for theater or Los Angeles for film and television productions. You may also consider applying for a membership in the 'Screen Actor's Guild or the Actors' Equity, after you have been hired for a few union productions. Enrolling in these unions makes sense as these unions demand higher wages for their members.

Above all, the best way to get experience and education is by continuing to act as much as possible. Constantly be on the lookout for casting calls and audition notices in newspapers, on web sites, and posted to community notice boards, etc. If you work hard and are dedicated and devoted, you will soon see opportunity come knocking your way.

What is Method Acting?

Method acting, or as it is sometimes simply known, the Method, is a technique used by actors. Method acting is thought to have revolutionized acting as we known it today. It is the antithesis of the wooden actor and uses techniques such as sense and memory to achieve realism in acting. Actors who use the Method rely on using their own emotions from their past in order to bring new depth to a part.
Method acting is thought of as an American form of acting, but it was a Russian theatre director named Konstantin Stanislavski who wrote books on the subject in the 1930s. Around the same time, one of Stanislavski's students, Richard Boleslawsky, opened an acting school in New York. Boleslawsky began teaching Stanislavski's basic principles of acting.
In the 1940s and 50s, method acting was popularized and taught at the legendary Actors' Studio in New York City by famed acting teacher Lee Strasberg. Another school in New York, called the Actors' Group, also taught the method under the coaching of Stella Adler. Acting students came from far and wide to learn this new technique.
Popularity of the Method grew with the work of actors such as Marlon Brando and James Dean. Their style of acting, or non-acting, was considered a breakthrough in the acting world. Compared to old style actors such as Clark Gable, theirs was an acting of previously unseen raw emotion and sensitivity. Other famous actors who have studied the Method are Al Pacino, Paul Newman and Robert DeNiro.
Method acting is thought to one of the most difficult techniques to learn. There are no technical forms or lessons that can be practiced to learn it. There are numerous versions of the Method, taught by different teachers. Most of the techniques are based on the sense or emotional memory process. The actors have to fully immerse themselves in the character in order to sense all of the experiences the character would.
Stella Adler, who taught method acting to both Marlon Brando and Robert DeNiro, studied method acting with Stanislavski. Her teaching methods involved using memories or an incident from the actor's own life to enhance his or her acting. By doing this, actors can use real emotions in portraying their characters.
Although method acting is thought to be the most realistic of techniques it can sometimes present a minor irritation to other actors. Dustin Hoffman once went without bathing and sleeping for two days in order to immerse himself in a role. On seeing Hoffman's condition, Laurence Olivier his co-star in the film, famously asked him, "Why don't you just act?"
